Our euthanasia service takes place in a private sanctuary reserved exclusively for you and your family, known as the Angel Area. This specially designed space within our showroom is softly illuminated with glowing angel wings, gentle lighting, and calming music to create a sacred farewell environment.
During your time with us, the entire showroom, including the Angel Area, is closed to others. There are no interruptions, no waiting rooms, and no sense of urgency. You are free to be fully present, surrounded by love, peace, and dignity

Home farewells can bring added logistics, emotional pressure, and the difficult reality of remaining in the home with your pet afterwards. For some families, especially those with children, this can feel overwhelming.
The Angel Area was created to offer a gentle alternative. A neutral, peaceful place that feels private, beautiful, and intentional. A space where the moment can be honoured without distractions, urgency, or added stress. Here, your pet is already in our care. There are no transfers, no waiting, and no pressure to move on before you are ready.

How soon can we book in?
Every farewell is booked once we have confirmed the veterinarian’s assessment and availability. Call us and we will arrange the earliest time that suits your family, and talk you through what to expect before you arrive.
Can we stay with our pet the whole time?
Yes. A licensed veterinarian first gives a gentle sedation, allowing your pet to enter a calm, relaxed state before the final injection is given. You have an hour of exclusive access to The Angel Area at our Garbutt office in Townsville.
What happens afterwards?
After you have said goodbye, your pet remains peacefully in our care. If you have chosen any keepsakes, these are carefully captured first, before their water cremation takes place. Their ashes are then prepared for return and are usually ready to come home to you within approximately five days.
Would it be better to do this at home?
Some families prefer to be at home, and we can point you to the mobile vets we work with on our in-home pet euthanasia page. Others find it hard to stay in the house afterwards, which is why The Angel Area exists.
