Q & A
Let us answer your questions....
If your pet is not microchipped, please rest assured that we have comprehensive systems in place to ensure their journey with us is handled with the utmost care and precision. While we typically use microchip numbers to track pets through the aqua cremation process, we have other highly effective methods to ensure complete accuracy.
From the moment your pet arrives, we implement a detailed chain of custody using QR codes that are updated at every stage of the process, ensuring real-time tracking as they move through various stages and locations. Additionally, a stainless-steel identification disc is gently secured to your pet, which stays with them throughout their entire time with us. We also use a detailed diagram of the aqua cremation vessel to monitor your pet’s specific location within the system. These procedures are designed to provide the highest level of care and to ensure no errors occur, honoring your pet every step of the way.
The microchip is only recoverable with aqua cremation because of the unique nature of the process. Unlike traditional flame cremation, aqua cremation uses water, heat, and alkaline solutions to gently break down soft tissues while preserving non-organic materials, like your pet’s microchip.
In flame cremation, the intense heat causes the microchip to melt and disintegrate, making it unrecoverable. However, with aqua cremation, the lower temperatures and gentler process allow the microchip to remain intact, so it can be retrieved as part of our careful handling procedures.
Other inorganic items that can be recovered include orthopedic implants, non–absorbent sutures, rocks, or any other inorganic element your pet has ingested before passing.
Although not required, it is advisable to remove your pet’s microchip number from the database you have registered with to ensure your records remain up to date. This helps prevent any future confusion or alerts related to your pet’s microchip.
