“It is a sacred opportunity to express your love one last time.”

When a beloved pet passes, many families feel a quiet pull to see them one more time. To stroke their fur, say the words that went unsaid, and leave with a peaceful final memory instead of a hurried one.

If you are thinking about a private pet viewing in Townsville, it is natural to wonder what it will actually be like. This guide walks you through a visit to The Angel Area at Pure Souls, from the moment you book to the moment you say goodbye, so you can arrive knowing exactly what to expect.

What to Bring With You

You do not need to bring anything to a private pet viewing. We prepare the space fully before you arrive. Some families like to add a personal touch, such as:

  • Your pet’s bed, blanket or favourite toy
  • A few of their favourite treats
  • A framed photo for the tribute space
  • A letter, poem or a few words you would like to say

Up to four family members are welcome. Children are welcome if the family feels it is right for them, and small pets on a leash may attend too.

Gentle Answers to Common Questions

You can also read more about pet loss and grief.

Of course. Every family grieves differently. You are welcome to include cultural, spiritual or personal rituals, such as a prayer, a song, a poem or a moment of silence. Let us know beforehand and we will help prepare the space.
